Tim Cahill admits equalling the Australian national teams scoring record was a very proud moment for him.
Cahill, who has now joined Damian Mori at the top of the scorers list, was now looking forward to breaking the record in the next few internationals he plays.
"To get the record with Damian Mori is a special time. There's something there to be broken in the next few games or next World Cup," he said after his 65th cap.
"It's a big honour to play for your country and have records like that.
"I'm very proud."
Cahill added the following on his Twitter and Instagram pages:
There is no bigger honour than playing for you're country. I'm so proud to have equalled the all time http://t.co/U6dhPq8f7F— Tim Cahill (@Tim_Cahill) November 19, 2013
