Everton go for Henrik Larsson

Everton boss Dave Moyes is eyeing former Manchester United striker Henrik Larsson.

The Daily Mail says Moyes failed in a bid for the 37-year-old former Manchester United and Celtic forward earlier this year but has been alerted to uncertainty over his future with Helsingborg.

The Swedish League is in the middle of its winter shutdown and Helsingborg have made it clear they want their veteran striker to sign for another season.

But Larsson gave Everton some hope that they could yet persuade him to return to England as replacement for the injured Yakubu, by stalling on the Swedes' offer.

Larsson said: "I am a free agent and I want one or two things to change at Helsingborg before I commit myself. I haven't closed my mind to the idea of going abroad again."
