Everton fullback Leighton Baines is keen to become the club's fulltime penalty expert.
The defender kept a cool head in injury time to secure the Blues' 2-1 win over Wigan on Sunday with a well-taken spot-kick.
Baines told evertonTV: "I spoke to him (Louis Saha) a little bit on Saturday and I think he was still quite keen to take them, which is fair enough.
"But luckily for me he wasn't on the field at the time so I was fortunate enough to get it."
Mikel Arteta has been Everton's first choice penalty taker over the last couple of years but Baines is hopeful of taking over those particular duties while the Spaniard is injured.
"Hopefully (I will be able to take them)," he said. "Mikel seems to be the main man but I would like to take them.
"But when Mikel comes back I'm sure he will want to be back on them."
