Everton left-back Leighton Baines is keen to dispel the myth of all footballers being one dimensional.
He says the majority of footballers do not fit the bling stereotype.
Baines told the Sunday Telegraph: "Most of the guys are normal. They come in, train and go home to their wife and kids. People who are single go out a bit more and do different things. I wouldn't claim to be an 'anti-footballer'.
"There are so many clichés about footballers. When people speak to you and you don't live up to the cliché, it surprises them. If you go into the dressing room at any club probably, 80 or 90 per cent are just normal lads.
"It's just that they do a job that pays them well and once that happens people expect you to do these lavish things and go crazy with it."
