Espanyol full-back Javi Chica Torres is a target for Everton.

The Mirror says Everton boss David Moyes is set to swoop for Torres in a surprise free transfer move.

Moyes watched the highly-rated defender, who can play on either side of the back four, in a flying visit to Spain and could open talks shortly.

The Goodison chief faces competition for Chica from Fulham, with boss Mark Hughes also watching him in action against Athletic Bilbao.
