Everton forward Henry Onyekuru is trying desperately to make Nigeria's World Cup squad.
The forward, on loan at Anderlecht, has recently returned from a long-term knee injury, which he suffered three days before Christmas.
The setback severely dented his progress, but Onyekuru believes he has a chance of making the Super Eagles squad for Russia.
"I have to prove that I'm able and worthy to go and play - once I do that - it's up to the manager [Gernot Rohr] to select the team," Onyekuru told BBC Sport.
"There is a lot of competition which is good. We have a strong team good enough to represent the country very well."
