Everton CEO Robert Elstone has revealed they're focusing on building the club's profile in local communities, rather than globally.
He said: "We have a bigger chance of growing our business by re-engaging with the local community by developing partnerships with local communities.
"That doesn't mean we are turning our backs on international opportunities but we do have scarce resources and it means we have to be clever with how we prioritise. At the moment our priorities are local."
Elstone added: "I think it's important to highlight Everton's work with Chang, the work in Shanghai, the work in Calcutta and also the EvertonWay - which is doing well in North America too.
"I think they demonstrate how the Club is approaching international opportunities."
