Everton fitness coach Jan Kluitenberg has decided to leave social media.

The Liverpool Echo says Kluitenberg has deactivated his Twitter following the 4-0 defeat to Manchester United.

One of Ronald Koeman's most trusted backroom staff members, the Dutchman was discovered to have left the social media site by supporters.

Some supporters have speculated it is because of negative messages received from frustrated fans in the midst of the club's poor run of form.

“Big shout out to @jankluit of @Everton who's got a new squad looking more unfit in 14 months than Roberto Martinez did in three years," one message to Kluitenberg read.
