Everton are in contact with Barcelona for winger Cristian Tello.
The Mirror says Roberto Martinez has pursued the 22-year-old for the past six months after first asking about the striker in the January transfer window.
And he is increasingly confident he can land persuade Barca to allow Tello to move to Goodison on a season-long loan.
It was widely assumed the Spain international would be sold this summer, and with the likes of Liverpool, Inter Milan and Tottenham all interested, Everton would outmuscled in any bidding war.
Yet sources in Spain suggest Barca have decided to just send him out on loan for a season before deciding whether to offload permanently - and that has made Everton favourites for his signature.
