Everton face competition from QPR and Stoke City for released Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.
The Daily Star Sunday says while Everton boss Roberto Martinez, who had Barry on loan last season, is at the head of the queue, he can expect a scrap from several rivals also in the hunt.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes, who in 2009 took Barry from Aston Villa to City for £12million, would love to bring him to the Britannia Stadium as he continues to transform the Potters squad.
And Sparky is not alone in his admiration of the player as QPR counterpart Harry Redknapp is also monitoring developments.
