Everton eyeing Jordi Cruyff for director of football role

Everton want Jordi Cruyff to take their director of football role, according to reports.

The Sun is of the belief that the Toffees will look to the son of the late great Johan Cruyff if they miss out on Leicester City's Steve Walsh.

New Everton boss Ronald Koeman is keen to work alongside Walsh at Goodison Park but the fact he only signed a new contract with the Foxes six weeks ago suggests he is unlikely to leave the Premier League champions.

As a contingency, Everton have reportedly made contact with Cruyff who currently holds the director of football position with Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The 42-year-old spent time with Manchester United early in his playing career, following his stint with Barcelona, and could be persuaded to return to England if Everton come in wth the right offer.
