Everton are plotting a swoop for St. Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier, according to reports from talkSPORT.

Ronald Koeman alternated between Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg as his main goalkeepers last season, but with neither having managed to impress, the Everton boss is now expected to invest on a new custodian during the current transfer window.

Ruffier has been one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the French Ligue 1 over the past eight seasons.

And the Toffees are now expected to launch a bid to sign the 30-year-old this summer.
