Everton have received an injury boost ahead of the weekend's clash with Manchester City.
Left-back Leighton Baines was forced off late in Saturday's 2-0 loss at Southampton because of a knee and calf problem which the Toffees feared would rule him out for the home meeting with third-placed City this Saturday.
However, manager Roberto Martinez is almost certain to have the England international for the crucial clash as the Merseyside outfit look to bridge the four-point gap with fourth-placed Arsenal who defeated Newcastle United 3-0 on Monday night to move clear in the race for a Champions League berth.
"Leighton Baines is set to be fit for this weekend's game against Manchester City," said a statement on the club's official website.
"The England international was assessed over the weekend, but has reacted well to the problem, meaning he should be fit for Saturday's crunch Goodison clash."
