Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho remains Everton boss Dave Moyes' top transfer target.

The Mirror says Everton will press ahead with a record £16million bid for Moutinho - despite Sporting Lisbon insisting he is not for sale.

And Moyes is prepared to raise much of the cash by selling Andy Johnson to Fulham for £10.5m.

Moyes has made Moutinho his No.1 target and the man to fill the hole in midfield left by Lee Carsley's exit to Birmingham.

But the Sporting president, Soares Franco, insisted: "We have received no offers for Joao Moutinho. We have no need to sell as we are secure."
