Everton defender Ashley Williams has hailed the arrival of Jordan Pickford.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper joined Everton last week in a £30 million deal.

Williams said: “I've played against (Jordan) Pickford and managed to catch a couple of the games he has played for England in the tournament.

“He has looked very good and really sure of himself.

“I'm happy the club have been willing to pay that much money on a goalkeeper.

“To play at a club who are trying to do something is obviously good and I'm happy."
