Everton defender Tyias Browning is out for the season.

The 23-year-old , on loan at rock bottom Sunderland, injured his groin during the midweek defeat to Aston Villa and scans have revealed the problem is worse than first thought.

Sunderland boss Chris Coleman confirmed: “Tyias Browning will be out for the rest of the season with his groin. He's done exactly the same as Darron Gibson, so that's a blow."

Browning has made 29 appearances for the Black Cats since joining them in the summer.
