Everton defender Stones proud of praise coming his way

Everton defender John Stones is delighted with praise coming his way.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka, for one, has said Stones will play for England; he has been a regular for the Under 21s this season, and there has been talk of him making the World Cup squad.

"It is nice to hear that sort of stuff from your club captain and obviously there is a lot of speculation," Stones told the Daily Mail. "All I can do is concentrate on playing for Everton and the time that I do get on the pitch, making the most of it.

"Playing for Everton is my main priority and only by doing well for Everton will I ever get to play for the senior England squad or get in a World Cup. There are not many English centre halves, but I am not focusing on that. I am just concentrating on Everton and to hear things like Jags said only spurs me on."
