Everton centre-back Michael Keane thinks that his Toffees forward Wayne Rooney deserves an England callup on the back of his recent performances.
The 31-year-old, who was dropped from the England setup by coach Gareth Southgate in the summer, has scored two in two league games for the Toffees this season.
When asked about Rooney's chances for the upcoming qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia, Keane said: "Personally I think he deserves it the way he has been playing but that is up to the manager.
"There are a lot of good strikers who have been scoring goals so it is his decision."
