Everton are actively seeking to replace manager Sam Allardyce this summer.
The Mirror says majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is returning to two managers he targeted in October following Ronald Koeman's sacking.
His first choice is Shakhtar Donetsk's Paulo Fonseca who has impressed in his two years in Ukraine winning the treble of League, Cup and Super Cup while former Watford boss Marco Silva is his second option.
The enquiry for Fonseca in the autumn was followed by a demand for £15 million compensation which Everton weren't prepared to pay.
They switched to Silva and ironically were met by a similar bill for Silva's services by Watford which was rejected. When Silva refused to resign making him a free agent Everton went for former England boss Allardyce.
