Everton have confirmed the return of Scottish forward James McFadden to the club.
The Toffees have snared the former Motherwell and Birmingham City on a free transfer after his contract with the St Andrews' club expired at the end of last season.
A statement released on the club's official website read: "Everton have re-signed James McFadden on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
"The 28-year-old forward has been a free agent since his summer release by Birmingham City and returns to Goodison Park almost four years after departing in a £5m switch to St Andrews."
McFadden was being heavily linked with Wolves as well as Scottish giants Celtic but Everton have won the race for his services as he rejoins the Goodison Park outfit.
