Everton FC have confirmed that versatile defender/midfielder Phil Jagielka will be coming on the tour down under in July.

The 27-year old, who joined the Toffees in 2007 from Sheffield United, said he was very excited about the trip especially as he hasn't been to Australia before.

"I'm looking forward to it. I've never been to Australia before but I get told by Tim Cahill all the time that the country is amazing so it will be nice to visit there and sample it," Jagielka said.

"I'm told the venues we are playing at are also first class.

"It will be good to get out and play in front of Australian football supporters - Tim tells me just how passionate they are about football. I'm especially looking forward to meeting the 'Evertonians' who live down under."

Everton will take on reigning A-League champions Sydney FC, new club Melbourne Heart and the pride of Queensland the Brisbane Roar in a three-match tour at the end of the World Cup.
