Everton are confident of signing Charlton Athletic attacker Ademola Lookman.

The Liverpool Echo says Everton want to wrap up the £10m signing of the teenager from Charlton Athletic in the first few days of January.

Lookman's move to Goodison is close to being finalised and Everton are hopeful of being able to make an announcement at the start of next week.

The winter window opens on Sunday, January 1 and Lookman will be the first of a clutch of signings Everton make next month.

Charlton face Southend on New Year's Eve but with his move to Goodison edging closer, it is expected he will be left out of the squad.
