Everton have made a move for USA defender Jay DeMerit.
talkSPORT says Everton and Wolfsburg are battling for DeMerit, who is a free agent after coming off contract at Watford.
Joseph Yobo is on loan at Fenerbache and David Moyes is eager to strengthen his defensive options but he will have to act quickly if he wants to build on his interest, with Wolfsburg still the favourites to land DeMerit, 30.
