Everton coach Unsworth reveals Donkor re-signing plans

Everton have allowed Anton Donkor to return to parent club Wolfsburg.

Donkor has featured just three times for the club's under-23s side after he picked up an ankle injury which brought his campaign to an end.

Everton have confirmed that the teenager escaped the need for surgery but Donkor has returned to Wolfsburg to finish his rehabilitation.

The Blues now intend to speak with the Bundesliga side again this summer and discuss a second loan.

"All the scans were that he didn't require the op but he is being rehabilitated back in Germany so we'll pick that one back up again in the summer and see what we can do," u-23s coach David Unsworth confirmed.

The Liverpool Echo says the deal which saw Donkor move on loan included a clause which meant Everton would have had to pay in the region of £1.5m to sign the German youngster on a permanent contract.
