Everton reserves coach Alan Stubbs was pleased with new signing James McFadden's performance in their 2-0 win over Sunderland.
Stubbs believes McFadden will have taken a lot of confidence from his 45-minute run out for the reserves on Tuesday afternoon.
Stubbs told evertonfc.com: "It was pleasing for Faddy to get 45 minutes under his belt.
"From a confidence point of view it was probably his first 45 minutes in 12 months so that was a plus point. He'll need a few more of those before he's up to match pace."
