Everton goalkeeper coach Chris Woods is backing Richard Wright for success at West Ham United.

Wright signed for the Hammers last week and Woods told evertonfc.com: "I loved working with Wrighty, he was a great lad and he gave everything he could in training but unfortunately it just didn't work out for him here.

"It was tough for him and you had to feel for him in a way because he used to come in and get his head down and work hard, realising that unless there was an injury he was never going to play.

"But all credit to him because he is a model professional and I wish him well."
