Everton are ready to compete with Arsenal for Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Daily Mail says he was the subject of a £2.5million bid from Swansea City last summer but his value has quadrupled with his performances this season.

Arsenal have in recent days been linked with a bid that would see the player move to Liege's rivals Anderlecht on loan for the rest of the season.

Everton are being encouraged to make a firm bid with Swansea also still in the chase although they may be less willing to bid the desired £8m.
