Everton captain Phil Neville is being lined up for a playing return against Carling Cup opponents Brentford.
Steve Round says the former England man's leadership has been missed during that time and the experienced 33-year-old looks likely to feature against the npower League One side.
The Blues assistant manager told evertonfc.com: "Phil is a terrific leader and has been a big miss, but he is now fully fit and available for selection. I'm sure it won't be too long before he's back in the team and leading from the front.
"Not only is he an exceptional player but he is also a terrific leader. I can't speak highly enough of him as a player and a professional."
