Everton boss reveals - We wanted Newcastle's Ba

Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that the club were after Demba Ba prior to him signing with Newcastle United in the summer.

The in-form Senegal international left West Ham United at the end of last season and was linked with a number of clubs before the Magpies picked him up with Moyes admitting he was very interested in having him at Goodison Park.

"We were interested in Demba. I think he has done terrifically and done what a lot of people thought he could do at West Ham," said Moyes ahead of tomorrow's trip to Newcastle.

"He scored the goals there and that brought him into everyone's eye-line and we did have an interest in him."
