Everton boss Moyes urges Anichebe to grab chance

Everton boss Dave Moyes hopes Victor Anichebe grabs his first team chance today against Aston Villa.

"We'll give Victor the opportunity to show what he can do," Moyes told evertonfc.com. "If you don't feel ten feet tall playing for Everton at centre-forward then I don't know when you're going to feel ten feet tall.

"I wish I could do it now if I had the opportunity - and I'm sure people out in the street would too."

Anichebe acquitted himself well when he replaced Louis Saha at Spurs last weekend, and Moyes is keen to point out that chances to impress can be few and far between in this game.

"If you get chances in football, whether it be as a young player or a player who's been in and out of the team, or a young manager who's been given a chance at a club, you've got to be ready to take them. Ready and able. They say if you go on stage you have to have an act, well, you have to go out on the pitch and show what you can do."
