Everton boss Dave Moyes has assured fans the club is working hard to bring in new signings.

He told evertonfc.com: "I think we are getting closer but I couldn't say at the moment if anything is done or not done, I am leaving that to the Club to sort out."

A striker is believed to be a key target for the Blues, although the manager is confident in Victor Anichebe's credentials.

He added: "Young Victor has come in and he has now got some experience. It is a big ask for him just now but he is more than capable of standing up to it and getting a goal will give him a lot of confidence."
