David Moyes insists Everton will not give up on a final UEFA Champions League spot without a fight. With only six games of the season remaining it is unlikely that they will be able to close the nine point gap on Arsenal, but a place in next season's Europa League will provide some consolation.
"While it's mathematically possible we are going to hang on in there and try for it," said the Scot.
"I think Arsenal have got some difficult games in their run-in, so we are hoping that maybe they will slip up. But I think the result at Portsmouth the other week (a 2-1 defeat) is the one which made it difficult for us.
"If we had beaten Aston Villa then I think there may still have been an opportunity, but the draw (3-3 on Sunday) makes it hard. Aston Villa, I think, have still got an outside chance."
