Everton boss Dave Moyes was delighted with the performance of substitute James Vaughan in their 1-0 victory over Reading.
Moyes said: "Vaughan came on and gave us a lift, we needed to sharpen things up after that first-half and James certainly did that.
"We were flat, we did not get going and our passing was very poor. But in the end we needed to get forward quicker and James played his part.
"He is brilliant at coming on like that and making things happen. His attitude is first class and he has an abundance of effort and drive.
"And he is growing and getting better. Technically he will develop, but that only comes with experience and time."
