Everton boss David Moyes was pleased with Jack Rodwell's performance against River Plate's Ariel Ortega on the weekend.

"We can see Jack being more involved and we can see him improving again," said Moyes. "You could see in the game against River Plate that he had quite a lot of the ball and a lot of control.

"It's just his experience and his nous that needs to be worked on, particularly in the run-up to the goal. He needs to learn, as if he keeps doing that, it will be costly."
