Everton boss David Moyes is pleased with the deadline day deals.
Tigre striker Denis Stracqualursi and Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe both arrived on Wednesday.
“We are going to wait and see with the new boys,” said Moyes. “Royston is explosive and hopefully he’ll give us a bit of that pace. It’s something new for him to come to England but we will give him time. We needed to try and find something extra for us.
Stracqualursi arrives having topped the scoring charts in the Argentine Primera Division, and his new manager is optimistic he can continue that rich goalscoring vein in England.
“Denis has a good goal record and hopefully we will see that continue here,” said Moyes, who added that Mikel Arteta's late departure to Arsenal left him with no chance to find a replacement.
“It happened very late and there was not enough time.”
