Everton boss Moyes: Pienaar was best player on pitch

Everton boss David Moyes was delighted with Steven Pienaar's performance for their draw with Wigan Athletic.

Moyes handed a second Blues debut to Pienaar at the DW Stadium and he hailed the winger’s performance against the struggling Latics, with most of Everton’s best play coming through the South African star.

“I thought Steven Pienaar was the best player on the pitch today,” Moyes told evertonfc.com. “At times we just didn’t have enough to cause them problems but everything he did was really good.

“He was terrific and he looked as if he hadn’t been away. We just didn’t have the bits to create off some of his good play. But all in all, it was a really good debut for him.”
