Everton boss David Moyes remains hopeful of Steven Pienaar signing a new deal.
The South African, impressive this season, has a current deal which expires in the summer and is being linked with a move to Tottenham next month.
The Goodison chief said: "I have always said if Steven wants to stay we would be delighted to help him stay.
"I have been complimentary about his form because he has played well this season. Sometimes when a player is in the last year of their contract supporters can question their attitude or desire but nobody could question his attitude or desire in the games.
"We have got to hope we can make something happen before the end of the season."
