Everton boss Moyes: Neville deserves World Cup consideration

Everton boss David Moyes insists skipper Phil Neville deserves World Cup consideration.

Neville last featured for England in their friendly against Spain in 2007, but his form for the Toffees this season means Moyes wouldn't be surprised to see him earn a dramatic recall.

"I think Phil will definitely be in the group of players that Fabio is considering as to whether he wants to take him or not," Moyes told evertonfc.com.

"As you know, Phil will be waiting to see if he gets picked and won't have booked any holidays - although I think it'll be tough for him."

Moyes also suggested that Neville's presence off the pitch would be a benefit to any international squad.

"As a squad member and a person in the group, you know that you're going to get a professional who prepares himself for every game," added Moyes.

"I don't think he would have any concerns about going there and not starting, I think he'd use it as a real positive."
