Everton boss David Moyes remains hopeful of making deadline day deals.

With the clock ticking on any potential deals, he is still optimistic that business will be done – even if he is remaining tight-lipped for now.

“I don’t like talking about players at other clubs,” he told evertonfc.com. “I would not do that. I did not like it when I was a player, when I kept seeing that other centre-halves were coming to take my position, so I won’t do it.

“If there was any news then I would give you it but you will have to wait until midnight tomorrow night and see what happens.”

When asked if he was confident of adding to his squad, he added: “I said a month ago that I wanted to bring two or three players in during the window so the answer to that is ‘yes’.”
