Everton boss David Moyes hailed Tony Hibbert for his performance at centre-half in last night's Europa League win over AEK Athens.

The Toffees triumphed 1-0 in Greece thanks to a Diniyar Bilyaletdinov goal and qualified for the Europa League knockout phase with a game to spare.

Moyes told evertonTV: "I am always proud of the players but it was a good result and it gets us through.

"He (Hibbert) has done great in Europe, he's a 'small' centre-back but he's quick and sharp and knows where to be. Tony Hibbert has been a great player for Everton."
