Everton boss Moyes has sympathy for West Ham's Zola

Everton boss Dave Moyes feels for West Ham rival Gianfranco Zola as he struggles in his first weeks in the job.

"I've been there and I know how sore Gianfranco will be feeling after that game," said Moyes.

"But that is what happens when you come into management. It is very difficult to understand how rotten you feel on a Saturday night after a bad result.

"I thought losing might become an easier thing as you got older and you would be able to manage it better. But I have got to say I have found it gets worse.

"My wife will probably be dancing about knowing that her husband is coming home with a smile on his face!

"What young managers need is an opportunity, time to make mistakes and a board who will support them.

"But when you come into a football club you have to get results quite quickly - that is the thing that gives you that little bit of time."
