Everton boss David Moyes has backed West Bromwich Albion counterpart Roy Hodgson for the England job.
During his time at Preston, Moyes travelled to Italy to study the methods of then-Udinese boss Hodgson as part of his UEFA pro coaching licence and believes the appointment could be a positive one for the fortunes of the Three Lions.
"Roy's a really good coach and someone who knows the game thoroughly and someone who's been round the block a few times, so it's certainly no surprise to me. I'm not surprised at all," said Moyes.
"I'm sure Harry was in the running as well. I think they were looking at probably Harry and Roy and looking to see which one suited.
"I think England have got hopes to develop other things and Roy is a really good teacher of football as well as a good manager, so I'm sure if he gets involved with England then he'll be a good choice."
