Everton boss Moyes hails matchwinner Osman

Everton boss Dave Moyes hailed the performance of Leon Osman in yesterday's 1-0 victory over Derby County.

"It was a lovely pass and a lovely finish," Moyes told evertonfc.com. "I thought Leon Osman made the difference to the team when he moved into the middle of the park. The 20 minutes or so that he spent in there was probably the difference.

"I think his best position is central midfield, but for a lot of the time he has been in the wide positions," continued the manager.

"He can score goals as he did today - and he nearly got a second. He did well."

Indeed, the manager is hoping for even more goals from the Academy product.

"I expect more goals from him," stated the boss. "I think he has to add that. I think consistently he plays well for us and he is reliable when he plays.

"I move him around into three or four different roles and he does it without a murmur."
