Everton boss Moyes: Gibson signing great business

Everton boss David Moyes has no doubts about the "hunger" of new signing Darron Gibson.

Gibson was signed yesterday from Manchester United.

"I hope that we are getting a really hungry player and someone who is determined to show what he is capable of and what he can do," said the manager. "I can see there is a toughness about him, and I can see there is a hunger, and it is up to him to try and get into the Irish squad for the Euros. It is a big six months for him."

Moyes is hopeful Gibson can add some important attacking impetus to his side's forward play and is also satisfied at having secured another player who has his best years ahead.

"We will try and put pressure on him to try and become a goalscoring midfield player with his shots," continued the Scot on evertonfc.com. "He's got good delivery which will help us hopefully in some set piece situations as well.

"I think Darron Gibson's a decent player and I think there would be half a dozen teams in the Premier League who would have liked to have got him.

"We got a really good deal for the Club and it's a young player who we know we can have here for the next four or five years. It's up to him to show what he's about."
