Everton boss Moyes fears Benfica's South American stars

Everton boss David Moyes fears they could be in for a hiding against Europa League opponents Benfica tonight.

Benfica have signed Real Madrid duo Saviola and Javi Garcia, Cruzeiro midfielder Ramirez and Real Zaragoza playmaker Pablo Aimar, who cost Valencia £13.6million from River Plate eight years ago, before losing his way after Rafa Benitez's departure to Liverpool. It is the South American influence that worries Moyes the most, with Aimar returning to something approaching his best and forming a lethal alliance with Saviola and Brazil's Ramirez.

Moyes said: "We have very few options, and the players we have will have to cope with the situation.

"There is a chance one of the young players will get an opportunity, but I'm going to have to give that some thought. We are up against a team full of outstanding Brazilian and Argentinian internationals, and I just wish we could put out a stronger line-up.

"They are a really good attacking side. Aimar and Ramirez are such a threat breaking forward from midfield, and Saviola is a handful up front.

"Aimar has got himself back in the Argentina side for the last couple of games and is very influential for Benfica. It's clear we are going to have our work cut out."
