Everton boss Moyes doesn't expect to spend big in January

Everton boss Dave Moyes doesn't expect to make any big signings in January. "Anything the Club have got they will give me," he told evertonfc.com. "At this moment in time I would be very surprised if we have got some. But that doesn't mean to say I am not out there looking for loans or Bosman signings or anything else that can help us.

"I don't think we will be selling because we don't have the numbers. We are short at this present time and that limits what I can do off the bench."

Moyes says he's not frustrated by this scenario - instead pointing out that it is an additional test of his managerial qualities.

"Not every football manager is given money and part of the job is to show you can work without it - and I am happy to do that," he declared.

"Unless something changes we aren't going to have a sugar daddy who will throw money at it, so what we have to do is good housekeeping and hope the manager can pick up a couple of players on the cheap who will improve the squad.

"You hope the players who are there will continue to improve and squeeze every last inch out of them."
