Everton boss Moyes credits success to Kenwright relationship

Everton boss David Moyes says his success his down to chairman Bill Kenwright.

Moyes thrives on the challenge of wheeling and dealing but hopes chairman Kenwright eventually hands him a blank cheque to strengthen the squad.

Would he welcome a Roman Abramovich type or a Middle East consortium? He told the Sunday Mail: "Some guy might come in and want things too quickly. Might not want me. Might not know what running a club is about.

"My chairman has been brilliant. He's desperate to give me £20m or £30m but having money doesn't always work.

"We'd like to see how we would do with a few quid. We're just a couple of players away from having a real go. Everton are 11th or 12th in the league table in terms wages so we're punching above our weight.

"I'm also fortunate to have good players. Cahill has been with me from the start while Arteta is playing as well as any Premiership midfielder.

"To bring players in I've had to sell. To get Marouane Fellaini for £15million I had to offload Andy Johnson and James McFadden.

"I sold Joleon Lescott last summer to fund three or four new signings."
