Everton manager David Moyes believes talented midfielder Jack Rodwell can reach his massive potential if given time.
The 20-year old continues to be linked with bigger clubs despite starting just 14 games with the Toffees this term but it seems as though Moyes is keen to stick with him.
Moyes admits the England U21 international has had a dip in form but so did Wayne Rooney before he departed Goodison Park for Manchester United.
"Younger players are going to be up and down," Moyes said in the Liverpool Echo.
"It happened with Wayne as well, the season we sold him, I don't think he actually played that well.
"When the team are in good form, it's easy for the young boys to go with it.
"But at times they need the senior players to help them. Jack will come again, I saw signs of it towards the end of the season.
"He's going to be a player."
