Everton boss Moyes confident Jelavic can mix it in Premier League

Everton boss David Moyes has no doubts Nikica Jelavic can cut it in the Premier League.

His arrival ends Moyes’ hunt for a new striker and the Blues boss believes he has signed a man with real pedigree.

“He has got a good record, he is a Croatian international and I am sure he will go to the European Championships in the summer,” the Blues boss told evertontv. “So we always try and bring in the right player at the right value and hopefully we have got that in Nikica.

“We hope he will score us goals and offer us something we have not had for a while. We have wanted to get a centre forward in for the last couple of years. We don’t want to put too much pressure on him but we want him to come in and score goals and, if not score goals, then create and make goals.”
