Everton boss Moyes: Chairman reason I'm staying

The support of chairman Bill Kenwright is the key reason Everton chief David Moyes is ready to sign a new deal with the Club. He told the club's official web site: "I'll be Everton manager next season, definitely.

"I hope to take us back into Europe, but we'll have to work hard to make it happen.

"Bill and I have always had a close relationship. A lot of the time he's phoning me to encourage me.

"There are also times I have to ring him and tell him how much he's done for the club.

"Bill only wants the best for Everton. I find it hard when people think he must be holding something back. He gives me everything." One thing Kenwright is hoping to give his manager is an investor who can facilitate the Club's burgeoning ambitions.

"Bill is trying to find someone for this club," he added.

"He will find the right person. I don't think he'll take anybody just because they might throw around a few bob.

"We haven't done it boom or bust, we've done it steady over a few years. It might not be a surprise if a big club goes out of business soon. I've got to make sure it's not Everton."
